Canvas Betterizer: Quality-of-life improvements for Canvas by Instructure
Canvas Betterizer is a Chrome add-on developed by Rob Noorda that aims to enhance the user experience for teachers working with Canvas by Instructure. This free program offers a range of quality-of-life improvements, particularly in SpeedGrader.
One of the key features of Canvas Betterizer is its ability to automatically focus and select the student grade, saving valuable time for teachers. Additionally, teachers can now hit enter to submit a grade and seamlessly move on to the next student. Another time-saving feature is the ability to save frequently used comments, which can be easily accessed from a dropdown box during grading. Furthermore, comments can be submitted simply by hitting enter.
Beyond SpeedGrader, Canvas Betterizer also addresses some common annoyances in Canvas. It removes the tooltips that often cover assignment scores in the gradebook, providing a clearer view of student performance. Additionally, it allows users to "smallify" their messages, making the inbox more accessible.
